About Mila
Introducing Mila the Miracle – Our Little Girl Abandoned in the Bush
Mila is nearly 2yrs old, chipped as a German Shepherd X and is currently 17kgs.
She probably needs to gain another couple of KGs to be her best healthy self.
We are not sure what happened to Mila while left starving in bushland for weeks on her own, but she had wounds on her ears and a hole under her neck which has healed really well.
Mila is quite anxious when meeting new dog friends of all sizes, so it took a couple of days to really settle and not be scared around her 2 big resident dog friends (male kelpie, female lab).
She adores them now of course and they are a very happy trio mingling together and taking treats together and lying beside each other.
Mila and her resident Bro enjoy catching pesky flies together and chasing the crows away from the back yard.
Mila we think would be quite content as an only dog though too as she does love human attention so so much and will cheekily push in for a pat.
Mila sleeps in a crate in foster care, but it is not her favourite place to be, to be honest.
She is a real people dog!!
She just adores her humans.
She really needs to be a companion for someone special.
She loves the couch and will lie on you or at least snuggle right in and will be your shadow as you go about your day.
She does not like being left outside too long with just the fur kids right now.
Ideally if you worked from home or someone was home often, that would be best for Mila right now at least.
Mila has not put one foot out of place with toileting! .. she likes to sleep in most days too and we have had no accidents at all in the house.
Mila has had to share a home with 2 mature cats also and we have had no trouble in that regard.
She even sleeps on a bed with them when helping her foster mum work from home
Milas foster Grandma has a tiny old poodle as well and Mila has settled fine with a teeny doggy also after a few days.
Mila is super happy to have her harness put on and go outside for walks, but she is so stimulated with other dog sightings and barking dogs and needs to learn how to focus on you (with treats perhaps) to bring her attention back.
So someone who is willing to be patient and work through this training will be needed for her.
Mila loves her car rides and jumps in and out with ease.
Mila will melt your heart with how she looks at you with her beautiful brown diamond eyes so be warned.
She is desexed, vaccinated, chipped and current with flea/tick/worm prevention.
Mila is in foster care at Arana Hills and her adoption fee is $595
If you would like to meet her, please send us a detailed message telling us all about yourself and the wonderful life she could share with you.
