Meet Mikah,
About: Mikah is a lovely, funny, cuddly boy. He is independent and social and quite agreeable as he listens to you intently. Mikah is also friendly, happy & a very smart boy! He is confident in himself and his surrounds, a smidge out-going and as social as can be. He is affectionate, loves to make friends and will put a smile on your dial!
Mikah is best suited to experienced owner, breed experience is also preferred but no essential. Mikah is also suitable for any household environment and would me a great adventure buddy for people who are active & spend lots of time outdoors.
In true Husky fashion, Mikah will howl and as he loves to cuddle he likes to stretch up on you for a hug.
Ideal Home: Mikah is best to live in a house or farm/average, with a medium to large yard & high, secure fencing.
Having access to inside the home would be great so that Mikah can feel like a part of the family.
Family: Mikah is open to meet kids of any age, but his size should be taken into consideration because he's a bit of a hefty husky.
Mikah is fine to live with people who work full-time hours as well.
Furry Friends: Mikah is open to meet dogs. During his dog assessment he wowed us with how brilliant he is. He was excited to meet and offered play bows from first seeing the other dog. He was happy walk with the other dog calmly & comfortably and when they got to meet without barrier he was happy to play & enjoy the other dogs company. Even when the other dog got a little too much, Mikah handled it well. He's a very respectable dog - as we love that about him!
As we cannot test, we are unsure how Mikah would go living with or meeting cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of his new owners.
Training & Development: Mikah would benefit from post-adopting training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience, and group classes just to ensure that his dog social skills don't get rusty.
With additional training, Mikah could be the type of dog to go to a dog friendly café, or social event. Mikah knows his name, and he also knows 'sit' & 'shake'. Treats would be a great tool to have on hand during training sessions as Mikah is food motivated.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Mikah has mid-range energy levels and would benefit from exercise, play time or walks from 30-60mins per day. Mikah loves to play with tennis balls.
Mikah would love to have mental stimulation such as treat puzzles, Kongs or anything to keep his mind engaged as he is a clever boy.
Mikah walks well on a lead but he is quite strong, so he is best walked on a martingale and lead.
Staff Comments: Mikah gives the best cuddles, he is super sweet and deserves all the love in the world.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C3 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
