Meet Gecko! A sweet playful girl!

Gecko is the best combination of loving staffy and boxer exuberance!

She is an affectionate and intelligent young dog who picks up new cues and tricks quickly. She is a beautiful soul and already knows so many commands; she can sit, drop, stay, leave it and shake paws but will need a family that can continue her training so that she can achieve her full potential. She does have separation anxiety but will settle down eventually. Would recommend that her new family give her some time to settle in and feel secure before leaving her by herself. She would be best suited to a family where she can be around people more often than not.

On walks sometimes she gets very excited by other people and dogs but just wants to say hello and play. She likes to sniff around and is intrigued with what you are doing and wants to follow you everywhere. She loves a run around whether it’s going for a walk with her human, doing epic zoomies in the backyard, chasing her favourite ball or simply chewing on a bone. She is a snuggle bug at heart though, and loves nothing more than to curl up by your side for some quiet time.

Gecko is fully house-trained and is excellent at letting you know when she needs to go to the bathroom. She knows to stay on her mat when things are winding down at the end of the day and she sleeps throughout the night in her crate. She does not dig in the backyard or chew up things that she shouldn't. Her new family will however have to help her understand her new boundaries but she is a quick learner and will pick these up in no time.

Gecko is a playful young beauty who just loves anything with a heartbeat. She will greet you with full body wags (she might have been a belly dancer in a past life) and a sweet gentle nibble on the ear to show you how much she loves and adores you. She is also a complete entertainer and will sing to you from time to time. Gecko would suit an active household that could offer her clear, consistent directions and regular stimulation. It’s recommended that any children are older and other dogs are her size or larger. Cats might find her too boisterous.

Gecko's ideal home is one with plenty of outdoor space where she can stretch her legs and explore safely. She has been a single dog in the foster home so a slow and patient introduction to other dogs will help her learn the social skills she needs to interact confidently.
