About Dixie
Hi my name is Dixie and I am a 5 ½ year old short haired Chihuahua.
I have been a really lucky little Chihuahua who was loved lots at my first home but my family had to make the hard decision to surrender me to Chihuahua Rescue where I have since spent the last 5 months with my foster mum who has also showered me with love.
Now I'm ready to look for my forever family and can't wait to meet them.
I'm a very easy going girl and would fit nicely into just about any family, although being such a small girl it might not be a good idea if my new family had any children under 10.
I originally came from a home where there were other dogs and liked their company and I have visited places where they have cats and didn't really pay much attention to them so if you have one of those that's ok too. I'm ok if you have to leave me alone sometimes but would really prefer your company.
My foster Mum says I am the bestest girl because I am not a fussy eater and will show my appreciation by eating anything you give me. I am toilet trained and will let you know when I need to go potty once I have settled into my new home and I just love going for walks and car rides.
My all time favourite thing is to cuddle with my person or just snuggle in my bed. Or yours - your choice.
There is something I need to tell you though and that is I just love everybody and can get over-excited very easily and want to give you lots and lots of kisses. Foster Mum says sometimes I'm a bit like a wind up toy and I have to learn to “slow down my happy” but that's pretty hard when you're always happy and when my tail starts wagging the rest of my body just seems to follow.
If you think you could be my forever person please fill in an application form
Love and kisses
Dixie ❤️
Medical notes
5 year old Dixie is desexed and microchipped. She is up to date with vaccinations as well as flea, tick, intestinal worm and heart worm prevention.
In April, Dixie had both her patellas repaired which have now healed and has been given the all clear. Dogs who’ve had orthopaedic surgery are more likely to have arthritic changes in the future so we would recommend starting her on joint support.
Dixie has recently had a dental scale and polish and had one tooth extracted.
