About Mama STA012102
Meet Mama! Mama is an independent gal who arrived in our care as a very fearful stray. She’s spent the last several months in a patient foster home building up her confidence and enjoying the comforts of an indoor lifestyle.
Mama may not be the cuddliest cat, but she enjoys gentle chin scratches once she trusts you and is getting more comfortable with pats every day. Mama is a playful girl who loves chasing her feather wand toy, ping pong balls, and playing with her feline foster siblings. When she’s not playing Mama enjoys spending her time snoozing on the couch or perched up in her hammock on the cat tree keeping an eye on things.
Mama is a total foodie so treats will be the best way to gain her trust. She loves foraging games and chasing treats when tossed. She’s a clever girl and has responded well to training exercises.
Mama will likely need an extended settling-in period and would appreciate a room to call her own while she gets used to her new environment. She will best suit a calm quiet home with a patient cat-savvy adopter and a feline friend to show her the ropes. Mama would appreciate an indoor-only lifestyle.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
