About Mango SUA012746
Mango is a beautiful, gentle soul who's ready to join your loving family. Mango is a quiet, friendly, and gorgeous lady who is sure to enchant everyone with her stunning presence and delicate manner.
Mango has a reserved demeanour, and while she can be nervous in new environments, with a little time and a slow, warm introduction, she's quick to seek out a cosy lap for a snuggle. Her charming personality thrives in the calmness of a peaceful household.
While Mango prefers to be your only feline friend, she doesn't mind sharing her space with a canine that is feline friendly. She's an indoor-only feline, preferring to lounge and play within the safety of her house or apartment.
Mango has Feline Asthma, requiring a twice-daily puff from her inhaler, which she takes in stride. The good news is, she responds well to her medication and is very compliant during her treatment sessions.
Medical notes
Feline Asthma
Feline asthma is a inflammatory lung condition similar to asthma in people. Mango was surrendered to CPS which had been well managed with a flixotide 250ug puffer (administered via face mark) twice daily. This costs about $40 every 2nd month when bought with a prescription from a chemist. She will need this long term, with vet checks every 6 months. It is important that Mango lives in an indoor only, smoke free home, and that you avoid burning incense, oil burner etc.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
