About Lana - 6 Month Old German Shepherd
Hi, this is Lana, a beautiful 6-month-old German Shepherd puppy, who is a shy and curious little girl. Lana is cautious when meeting new people but is very food orientated and can be persuaded with doggy treats. Lana is looking for a breed-experienced owner who can continue her training and help her build confidence in new situations.
Lana is currently living with a calm and sociable older dog and would benefit from having a doggy friend to grow and learn from. Lana spends her days outside with her foster brother and sleeps through the night in her crate and lets her foster family know when she needs to come out to use the bathroom. Lana is loyal to a fault and enjoys any form of attention from her foster mother.
As Lana is an active and intelligent dog who will grow up to be a strong, we recommend training classes to give her the best start in life. Lana will need plenty of affection, and exercise as she grows, and her owner will need to continue introducing her to new experiences to help her grow her confidence. Lana loves playing tug-o-war with her foster brother and has just discovered she can do big zoomies. Lana has been in the car a few times and is a very good girl on outings. Lana’s ideal family will continue to socialise her and take her on daily walks.
It would be a big plus if you have a friendly and calm adult dog as a teacher, companion, and playmate for Lana. If you don't have another dog to keep her company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time as Lana thrives with the companionship of her foster mother and other dogs.
Lana is a shy girl, but she is extremely intelligent and picks up new tricks each day. Her new family will need to have plenty of time to spend with her and continue her training, Lana has learnt to sit and wait for food, but responds well to learning new tricks. Lana has great recall and is improving daily, so it is important that her new parents continue this training.
Lana would be suited to a quite household where she can spend time with her new owners and grow into an amazing, well-adjusted dog. She will be a large dog so her house will need good fencing with no small gaps. She can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Lana’s adoption fee is $500 which includes her desexing when she is old enough. It also includes her first three vaccinations. She has been treated for fleas and worms and is microchipped.
Lana is in foster care in Glendale, NSW. Since she is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. She’ll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing.
