About Barney
Barney (named after his favourite brand of dog bed) is a 10-month-old toy poodle. Barney hasn’t had a great start to life, coming into care very underweight and scared. While he has now put on weight and is growing out his soft coat, he can still be timid around new people and may need some time to build his confidence with his new owners.
Barney loves other dogs, big and small and would suit a home with another dog to play with or with a dog friend he can meet with regularly. He is also tolerant and respectful of cats.
Barney can become upset when left alone so he would suit a home with someone who can be with him majority of the day or with a dog friend. While Barney likes children, he can find them a bit intimidating and would be best suited to a home with children over 5 who are able to work with him gently.
Barney has been desexed and has vaccinations up to date, he is still working on toilet training and lead walking.

Adoption details
Our adoption process consists of:
- An adoption application questionnaire that will be emailed upon an enquiry if we deem your enquiry is suitable for that particular animal. Please read the description of our animals before making an enquiry.
- A meet and greet to ensure yourself and any existing animals are suitable for your chosen furry friend
- A house check to ensure your property is suitable. This my include physically coming to your house, a video call or photos.
- An adoption agreement to sign upon being approved for adoption. This includes a two week trial period to allow your new pet to settle into their new home.
- Please note we are purely volunteer run so sometimes it may take up to 7 business days for the team to get back to your enquiry and we will only contact you if we believe your enquiry is suitable.
