About Gypsy Illingworth
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:
https://www.victoriandogrescue.org.au/about-vicdrg/adoption-and-foster-application-forms.html/
Gypsy is a sweet and spirited 11-month-old Pug x Jack Russell mix with a
heart full of love. Despite a challenging start to life, Gypsy has
blossomed into an affectionate and enthusiastic pup. She does experience
some separation anxiety, so she would thrive best in a household where
someone is home most of the time to help her build up her confidence.
Once she feels secure (which doesn’t take long), Gypsy’s true
personality shines through. She loves to explore the world around her,
cuddle up beside her person, and meet new doggy friends. Gypsy gets
along wonderfully with her foster brother and would love to have some
canine company in her forever home. She can be a bit scared around
people she doesn’t know yet, but with patience and understanding, she
quickly warms up.
Gypsy knows how to sit and politely take treats, and she would love to
learn more commands with a patient teacher. She is new to walking on a
lead and is learning how to do that properly as well, but she's so
excited to go for walks that she is pulling on the lead at the moment.
Gypsy has been reliably using puppy pads and is in the process of
transitioning to doing her business outside. She sleeps through the
night but is an early riser, and she’s accustomed to sleeping on the
bed for extra comfort and reassurance.
This energetic little girl loves going on walks and would be delighted
with two per day. If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion
who’s eager to discover that the world isn’t such a scary place
after all, Gypsy might be the perfect addition to your family.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Please note that we do not take/make telephone calls prior to receiving an application.
Commonly asked questions and their answers are provided when you email us. Unfortunately we usually will not have time to reply to enquiries in more detail and will give priority to completed applications over enquiries. Priority will also be given to typed applications which are easier for us to read and to copy relevant parts.
We look forward to receiving your application.
