ONE-EYED COLLEROY – LOVES PEOPLE, HAPPY WITH OTHER DOGS AND KIND TO
CHICKENS
Colleroy is a little sweetie who is looking for a new someone to help restore his upturned world. A friendly little boy, Colleroy had been with someone who neglected him terribly.
Colleroy loves to be with his people, is happy with other dogs and even kind to chickens. He is housetrained and has taken to using the doggy door in his foster home like a boss. Colleroy is quiet and calm around the house, enjoying snuggles with his people.
He is a delight on lead, enjoying gentle strolls to smell the roses, and walking well while paying attention to his handler. Colleroy does not seem to know commands but is easy-going and willing to please.
In care, Colleroy initially showed a little anxiety when his foster people go out, becoming worried and occasionally forgetting his toileting etiquette. We think this may be in part because of his worries about the big changes in his life. Last check with his carers, he is doing very well.
Colleroy had some skin allergies which have responded well to medication provided by our vets since he joined us. His missing eye causes him no trouble at all and just adds a jaunty angle to his cute little face.
Colleroy is looking for a new person or people who can provide him with a warm and loving home. He would love the chance to live with other friendly small dogs but will be equally happy on his own provided he has plenty of human company. While he is okay on his own from time to time, Colleroy will do better with people who are around a fair bit so he can adore and be adored in return. If Colleroy melts your heart, he would love you to submit an adoption application.
Please note: our dogs are not available for interstate adoption. We also do not adopt to people under the age of 25 years.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
Medical notes
Health: Colleroy has very bad leathery skin on his rear end from an
untreated flea allergy.
He only has one eye. He has had two seizures six weeks apart and we are
seeking advice on this. He has been to the cardiologist who said there
is no need for heart meds.
Weight: 6.3kg
Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

We look forward to receiving your application.
