Matti is the happiest dog you will ever meet. He is constantly smiling, constantly in a good mood and ready to play, and as equally ready to snuggle on the couch. He truly loves his people, loves to be around you and do everything with you. He is also incredibly dog sociable, and has a special talent for play. He is neutral towards dogs on a walk, albeit a little interested, and incredibly friendly and playful to other friendly dogs.
He can be a little nervous with people on the first greeting, but with some patience Matti warms up quickly, and truly loves everyone. He doesn't do big crowds, but prefers greeting people one on one. If anyone has a ball, he is down to play. Matti will most likely be a bit barky to new people that come to his house, but with appropriate greetings, will calm down quickly and welcome the new person.
Matti absolutely loves to play with a ball, have a wrestle with his humans, go for bush walks, or stay at home and cuddle on the couch. He is an anything and everything kind of dog. Matti gets a little overwhelmed in busy towns and streets, but can easily improve with increased exposure and socialisation. Otherwise he loves to just go for nice romps around the bush, or to an oval where he can chase a ball!
Matti has some separation anxiety. He copes better when he is left loose in a safe, comfortable space, with another dog friend that is relaxed being left alone. He needs a good role model for this. He is best being left alone (with a dog friend) after he has had a big run around and appropriate exercise. Because of this, Matti would not suit a home without another dog, or if his owners work long hours. Matti can settle in a crate, however this is not recommended if you were to leave him alone, as he absolutely stresses when you are gone.
Matti's perfect home would be one with another dog that is need of a good playmate, and a loving family that will shower Matti with cuddles, play and some boundaries. He needs owners that can play, take him for long lead walks, and include him in family activities! He is a truly loving dog and will hopefully find his best home!

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
