About Wally
Where's Wally? You're looking right at him!
This beautiful boy found himself in our care after being picked up wandering the streets. Unfortunately he was left here but, we just know his story will get better and he will find his forever home soon - could this be you?
Wally is truly such a loving, affectionate and adoring boy. His favourite thing to do here at the shelter is to cuddle staff, he loves to climb onto your lap and lean his body against yours to receive as many scratches, kisses and cuddles as he can get. His other favourite thing is TREATS. Once he knows you have treats it's hard to get his attention on anything else. He is super food motivated and will sit perfectly and patiently until he gets his reward!
Wally is a little unsure how to play, we believe it may be something that he hasn't experienced a lot before. We think over time he will learn to fetch and play but for now he is super happy sniffing around the yard here and exploring all the smells he possibly can. When he is finished sniffing and running around he will come straight back for more cuddles.
You may have noticed around his eyes are shaved. This is because he had surgery done here at the shelter to make him more comfortable as previously, his eyelids were rolling inwards causing him a bit of discomfort. He has healed beautifully and is much happier and comfortable now!
Wally would prefer to be the only dog in the home for now. This will be best so he can take some time to settle into his new home at his own pace. If there are any children in the home, we ask they are secondary aged and above as he would prefer humans who can take it slow with handling to eventually build trust and a loving bond.
If this special boy has already stolen your heart, come meet him at the North Melbourne shelter today!
