About Ollie
Ollie is a handsome, gentle, docile almost 7 year old English pointer. He’s de sexed and is microchipped. He’s currently in foster care and due to personal circumstances his owner is unable to take him back.
Ollie has a history or anxiety disorder this was compounded by a number of factors. When he first came into our care he was heavily medicated. He had not spent any time off leash and lived in a small apartment. Since he’s been with us he’s settled into the new home environment and enjoyed the company of our dog. His mental state has improved enormously and had a great reduction in his medication, this is still work in progress with structure and Positive reinforcement we are seeing good results. His moments of anxiety are far less frequent, the biggest trigger is thunderstorms however we have medication to help manage this situation.
Ollie loves walks, runs happily off leash and his recall continues to improve, he can be a bit ball obsessed however it’s a good tool to call him back. He loves humans great and small and gets along with other dogs. We have not really seen him interact with cats but he doesn’t seem bothered my them. Ollie thrives with routine, he’s in heaven when he’s lying in the sun and having cuddles. He is house trained and walks well on leash.
Ollie had a special place in our heart, we are so keen for him to find his forever home as he is so gentle, has heaps of love to give and in the right environment will be a great family dog.
We are willing to travel far and wide to ensure he finds his forever home and the right fit.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
Animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and on heartworm prevention / and also FIV tested for cats where possible. They are not available for adoption outside NSW (except ACT). Please email par.adoptions@gmail.com if you would like further information.
Dogs and cats are rehomed on two weeks trial to ensure that both the person adopting them and the rescuer are satisfied that the dog / cat / animal is happy and adapting well to their new home and this can be extended on request
Please be aware that Paws and Recover is run by volunteers who also work. We endeavour to answer enquires as quickly as possible. Some animals will inevitably be very popular and will generate many enquires. Where there is a high volume of enquires received, it will be our priority to contact those that best fit the requirements of the animal. This may mean that it is not possible for all enquires to be answered. Please keep an eye on the website for all updates.
Providing quality information as a part of your enquiry including information about your home environment, family, work hours, other pets and what you are looking for in a companion animal along with what you can offer one will greatly assist.
Please always provide a contact phone number as a part of your enquiry.
