Hi, my name is Nia. I am a goofy, lovable, and loyal affectionate girl. Classic GSP, if you love GSP's I will be perfect for you. I love nothing more than being by my human's side. I am a high-energy girl who thrives on mental stimulation and enjoys long walks and "sniffaris."
Nia's foster parents have taught her valuable skills: she's crate trained and toilet trained. She has newly learned to stay home alone and sleeps soundly through the night. Nia loves the indoor-outdoor lifestyle and is truly part of the family, with 24/7 indoor access in her foster home. She is a lovely, gentle girl inside the home—sweet, affectionate, and playful.
🥏 Playing frisbee is Nia's absolute favourite, and she thrives on open space to run and explore. But what she really dreams of is finding a forever home with a furry companion – a calm mentor dog who can be her lifelong play buddy.
🧠 Super smart and eager to learn, Nia responds well to positive reinforcement and is very food-motivated, making her easy to train. Her leash manners have improved significantly with training, but she would benefit from continued work. She walks calmly on a harness and loves games like hide and seek with her favourite toys.
🐾 Social and Friendly: Nia has been exposed to a variety of dogs in her foster care, ranging from Great Danes to small breeds like Havanese. She’s very polite with most dogs she meets and loves to engage in play. Nia has improved significantly in remaining calm around other dogs and would benefit from a calm mentor dog that also enjoys play.
🐾 Nia would thrive in a family willing to continue her positive reinforcement training, which is working wonders for her development. She still needs more guidance and ongoing training to manage her excitement around humans and during walks.
