About Dudley
Submitted by great dane rescue vic:
dudley is a great dane cross, please read his story and if you think he may fit into your family please give lucy a call. Hi i am dudley 3 yrs old great dane cross male desexed micro-chipped vaccinated. We saved him from the warragal pound he had been wandering the streets. He was very skinny, loosing fur down the middle of his back and tail. He looked very sad. He has now gained 7 kilos and very happy and his fur has all grown back and he looks beautiful. I take him for a run free at the oval and play then we go for a walk down to the beach where i can let him run free and play and he loves it. He has a beautiful personality, loves people and children and i have a cat as well. We even go down to the local coffee shop at rye where lays and everyone talks and pats him. The more they tell him he is beautiful he laps it up. I also take him to obedience, he starts off a bit excited and naughty but then starts to work and is very good. He does all basic commands sit, drop and stay. My daughters dogs a borzoi and a little lhasa x stayed with us or 10 days and he seemed more relaxed with them around. He does suffer with seperation anxiety. I feel also at times he is a bit big for me as i am ony 5 feet tall and i forget that i am 65yrs not 40 anymore. His first owner loved and looked after him for 2yrs, but her mother became very ill and she had to move in with her mother and could not take him with her. Then her daughter took him to live with her, she was home with him for 2 weeks then had to work so he was locked in a flat for 2 weeks. She then gave him to friends that lived in warragul. I believe he started off inside the house but then they put him outside all the time. He was not looked after then and they did not look for him he got out and did not go back he was roaming the streets he got out twice with me when i first got him but he only went over the road to the park opposite my house looking for us. When i let him out to greet friends or family he only goes to them and comes straight back inside. He sleeps inside the house on his own bed and is well behaved you would not even know he is there except for a smooch or pat. He also socialises with my other daughters dogs and children and has sleep overs. I wish to find him a good home, maybe ewith another dog to play with on a big block or property as my house and yard are small. Someone who would love and be prepared to understand and put in the time to help him. Hope you can help. Sorry, no e-mails. Lucy ansell
