About Thelma
Introducing our lovely Thelma, a three-year-old female Dachshund with a heart full of love and warmth. Once she's had a little time to get to know you, Thelma will happily show her friendly and affectionate side, proving once again why dogs are considered man's best friend.
Though she may be a bit timid at first, this delightful girl enjoys the company of other dogs around her size, as she can be a little intimidated by larger dogs. Her temperament towards cats remains as unsure as she hasn't spent much time around them.
Thelma is great to walk with on the leash, happily staying by your side. She loves to go out for her daily walks and enjoys sniffing around the local area, exploring the sights and smells of her neighborhood.
Thelma can experience a bit of separation anxiety when left alone, so she would benefit from a human companion that spends lots of time at home or a household with another dog to keep her company.
Being small in size, Thelma can accommodate apartment living or a comfortable house with a garden. However, her adventurous spirit and love for short runs might lean more towards a home where she can get out and explore a garden or a secure backyard with her new family.
In conclusion, despite being a bit shy and cautious, once Thelma warms up, she is a friendly, affectionate, and loyal companion that will be a great addition to your family. She's looking for a loving family that will provide her with the companionship and affection she thrives on. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and adorable best friend, Thelma is the dog for you.
Medical notes
It was noted that Thelma has carpal valgus of both forelimbs which doesn't require further treatment but she may be predisposed to developing arthritis later on in life
Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
