About Louise
Introducing Louise, a lovely 18-month-old Dachshund with a heart full of love. Although she may present as a tad anxious at first, with a gentle stroke and soft whispers, she'll soon be wagging her tail and seeking uninterrupted pats from you.
Louise is an expressive girl who readily communicates with a joyful bark. Her keen, alert nature combined with a playful streak makes her a delight to be around. She's demonstrated great compatibility with fellow small and medium-sized dogs, meaning a multi-dog household could indeed be a right fit for her.
Louise also doesn't mind the feline persuasion. She tends to bark at first when she encounters cats, but with time, she shows signs of acceptance and peaceful co-existence, demonstrating her adaptability in various scenarios.
One of Louise's cute quirks is that she needs a bit of gentle guidance in lead training. Rest assured, with a dash of patience and a sprinkle of positive reinforcement, our sweet Louise will soon be strutting alongside you like a graceful show dog.
It should be noted that Louise's past experiences have led to some signs of separation anxiety. She craves company and responsiveness, making her an ideal companion for those with a stay-at-home lifestyle, possibly working from home or retirees seeking a furry companion to share their day with.
Isn't it time to welcome the loving Louise into your life? She is more than ready to shower her new family with love and fill the moments around the home with happiness and warmth.
Medical notes
It was noted that Louise has carpal valgus of both forelimbs which doesnt require further treatment but she may be predisposed to developing arthritis later on in life
Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
