Handsome Badger is a 6-month-old German Shepherd who is looking for his forever home. Badger was rescued along with his 5 siblings, he has spent the last month in foster care learning about life away from his mum and siblings, he is now ready to find a home of his own.
Badger is a brave, bold pup that loves life and loves to explore, Badger is very cheeky and playful and will have everyone in the home entertained for hours. This goofy pup loves his people, when he isn’t following you around “helping” he is asleep with at least 1 paw touching you at all times.
Badger would suit most family dynamics; however, he is a typical puppy going through the typical puppy phase, whilst he isn’t too mouthy or jumpy, he can have velociraptor moments where nobody is safe from his goofy antics. Badger hasn’t had lots of experience with toddlers or very small children, he has been in care with kids 11 and up and enjoys meeting other kids at school pickup however doesn’t realise his size at times. Badger would be best suited to a home where everyone is over the age of 5 years old.
Badger missed out on critical socialisation as a pup, his foster family have been doing a great job exposing him to the outside world and socialising him, however Badger can still be unsure in new environments and around new things, he will use his ‘big, scary’ (adorable) puppy bark to voice he is unsure whilst he promptly checks things out to make sure they are ok. Badger will need ongoing socialisation and exposure in his new home, he would highly benefit from attending a group obedience training where he can be exposed to a variety of other dogs in a safe and controlled environment.
Badger is very clever and is food motivated, he enjoys learning new things and likes part-taking in training sessions with his humans, forming a strong bong and building his confidence when given lots of praise. Badger is still learning his basics but will need a new family that is dedicated to his ongoing training, as he grows into a teenager, he will need consistent feedback and boundaries to ensure he knows what is expected of him, a teenage German Shepherd sure can test your patience at times, but when set up for success, they are worth every minute of time you put into it!
Badger gets on well with other dogs, if another dog barks at him, he can become a little unsure and bark back, he is still gaining confidence and will need to keep socialising by having positive experiences with other friendly, confident dogs. Badger would benefit from living with an older, large breed dog that can take Badger under their wing and help him to come out of his shell. Badger likes to play rough but is also respectful of other dogs when they’ve had enough, he does however love to cuddle up to them at bedtime whether they like it or not. Badger has not been tested with cats or other small pets.
This beautiful pup has so much potential, he wasn’t given the best start to life but has more than made up for it in foster care and is now looking for a forever home that can continue to teach and expose him to the outside world and build his confidence. Badger will make a wonderful road-trip buddy or adventure pal, he just wants to be with his humans spending the day playing, then cuddling up on the couch invading your personal space.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
