About Opal
Opal is a sweet heart, ask anyone here at BARC. Just like her name, Opals can be hard to find.
As a growing 11 month old, the world is at her feet. This big puppy is looking for a new home and she is certainly a gem. Opal is a stunning black and white Staghound cross Great Dane. She is still young and will adapt into your lifestyle. She is full of energy and willingness to learn. Opal describes herself as a big softy at heart.
She loves spending her days with other dogs and has lived with cats in the past, and she enjoys her food and is highly food motivated.
Opal would benefit from an active lifestyle, keeping her legs and mind busy. Lots of trips out and about regularly to continue her socialisation and training lessons.
Opal would suit most homes, cats or other fluffy animals or small dogs. She is looking for a family to provide cuddles, attention and a nice comfy spot to sleep.
If you think you may be just the person/people able to give this stunning girl a chance at a spoilt life please contact BARC on 5441-2209 to arrange a time to meet with her.
To book a meet and greet with Opal please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
