About Pikachu
Requirements for Pikachu’s new home
- Patient, loving owners, ideally a family with kids
- Pikachu needs to live with another desexed playful dog (not a senior or puppy).
- A good sized safe secure yard.
- To be allowed inside when his family are home and to sleep of a night.
Pikachu’s favourite pastime is snuggling - he's a big smoochy cuddlier, he also loves soft toys, he throws and runs around with them.
Pikachu is confident around people he knows but can be a little nervous around people that he has just met, but it doesn’t take long and they will be his new friends, receiving his special snuggles & “chewbie” kisses.
Pikachu lives with 2 primary-school aged children and enjoys their company he thinks their belly rubs are the best. Surprisingly he doesn’t jump up on the kids at all.
Pikachu is great in the car; he just settles down and falls asleep. His lead walking is a work in progress, but he is very food motivated so easy to train from that perspective.
He is fully toilet-trained and enjoys sleeping inside of a night in his bed. He settles and sleeps all night; he does snore though!! It's very cute.
He LOVES water and hops in his paddling pool days regardless of the weather. He’s been very well socialised and happy to meet all dogs on his outings.
At 35kg he is a solid, chunky boy but more of a gentle giant type – he really will make a fantastic addition to a loving family.
From Pikachu’s carer:
Pikachu is living with a cat which he is fine with - I think if our cat was a snuggler Pikachu would like to cuddle (but our cat won't let this happen!). He's living with two dogs and really likes to hang out and snuggle with them. He enjoys a play and a romp but isn't overly energetic – he’s a walker not a runner! He’s been around chooks and horses and keeps a respectful distance – he’s intimidated by the horses but not at all “interested” in them.

Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home musr attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care or we will assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition thst you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
