About Onyx
Meet Onyx: a cat of great adventure and confidence, who is ready to impress you with his vibrant personality and tuxedo style.
Onyx, proudly known as our "purr-engine," is eager to show you love with his expressive purrs that could give a freight train a run for its money. His unique markings give him a debonair appearance, boasting an aesthetically pleasing combination of black and white fur and enchanting dual-colored amber and green eyes. And let us not forget his adorable white socks that add to his overall charm!
His curiosity echoes his adventurous spirit as he loves investigating every nook and cranny of the house. Beware of the misplaced shoelace or the unsuspecting cat wand, as they have found a formidable foe in Onyx. His skill in catching a wand toy with impeccable timing is a sight you wouldn't want to miss!
Being the social butterfly he is, Onyx loves human company, especially kids. His puzzle mat and fish tank are favorite hangouts, while the cat bed is a preferred choice for cozy snuggles with his sister Inky. Nothing pleases Onyx more than a warm fireplace and a cosy lap.
Onyx grew up around dogs - he shared his birthplace with a friendly pug, so he is quite comfortable around his canine counterparts. As for the vacuum cleaner, and the accidental splash from the cat fountain, he prefers to keep his distance.
Onyx hopes to find a loving home where his people, young or old, would engage him in play and respond to his loud, clear demand for pats whenever he revs up his purr engine. A home where Onyx can explore, play, and shower his love on his human and pet family members is all he desires.
Onyx is in excellent health and located at Little Bay.

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption enquiry should be made via
https://form.jotform.com/shellys.place.rescue/adoption-enquiry
2. Once your application has been received, one of our volunteers will contact you for a phone interview. This is to determine whether one of our cats or kittens will be a good fit for your home. We all want long-term success in placing rescue animals, so finding the best fit for the animal AND the family is very important.
3. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place if the application is approved.
4. A property check will take place via a video. Once this has been successfully completed, adoption paperwork finalised and the adoption donation processed, the pet can be collected from foster care.
5. A 14 day settling-in period commences once the animal has been collected from foster care.
6. Adoption is finalised after 14 days. Paperwork/records will be included in an adoption pack.
7. All animals will be rehomed desexed, 1st vaccinated, microchipped and treated monthly for fleas and intestinal worms. Once the adoption is finalised, the new owners are responsible for all vaccinations and preventative treatments.
As we are run entirely of volunteers we endeavour to respond to your enquiry as soon as we can. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to hold any animals. Please only apply if you are ready to adopt now.
