About Dorito
Dorito is an energetic and playful puppy who is eagerly learning to be the perfect companion. With his goofy smile and adorable 'dorito' shaped ears, he’s a natural clown, always ready to bring joy and laughter with his comedic antics. At just 13 kgs, he often hears, “You’re smaller than I expected!” but he’s the perfect size to be your adventure buddy by day and your lap dog by night.
He’s already walking well on a lead, sitting, and waiting at traffic lights until given the “okay” to go. Dorito loves meeting other dogs, big or small, and plays energetically with his friends at doggy daycare. During his foster care, he’s picked up commands like sit, drop, stay, roll over, spin, and crawl, and he’s excited to learn even more in his forever home.
Dorito is also a toy enthusiast, especially when it comes to balls. He’s mastered fetching and dropping the ball right in front of you, eager to keep the game going as long as you’re up for it! Other than toys, one of Dorito’s favourite things is going on car rides. He’s a great passenger, quietly sitting in the back seat, even on long trips, patiently waiting until you reach your destination.
Dorito hasn’t shown signs of separation anxiety and is content napping in his crate when his foster parents are out. However, he’ll need toys and mental stimulation if left alone for longer periods.
My Ideal Home:
Dorito thrives in an environment where he receives plenty of attention, affection, and consistent training. He is not suitable for apartment living and must have access to a yard. Dorito is looking for a family that can continue his training; he benefits from a structured routine and has been working on his manners around food. His new family will receive guidance from a trainer to ensure he thrives in his new home.
My Energy Level:
With daily outings, Dorito is good at settling into his crate or safe space for a nap. He may occasionally need reminders to take it easy, but he responds well to guidance.
My Suitability to Children:
Dorito is best suited for a home with children aged 15 and up. While he is friendly with kids he meets, he prefers a more mature environment where he can learn and grow.
My Suitability to Cats and Dogs:
Dorito is friendly with dogs and loves to play with them out and about, we have found he is however best as the only dog in the home. Unfortunately he's not a match with cats or smaller animals.
If you're ready to welcome a lively and affectionate puppy into your home, Dorito is excited to meet you!

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
