About Hercules
Meet Hercules! Anatolian Shepherd x Sarplaninac
Hercules, affectionately known as "Herc," was found wandering as a stray, likely abandoned, and seen for over a week avoiding all human contact. Capturing him required the skill of an experienced darter, but since then, Herc has started to blossom into a wonderful companion.
Hercules has a special bond with other dogs, enjoying their company and playing well with them, he would love to go to a home with another large breed dog. While he can be wary of some people, this is typical of his breed's Livestock Guardian traits. However, once he trusts you, he reveals his true nature as a giant teddy bear, full of love and affection.
Hercules is looking for a foster or a "foster with a view to adopt" home where he can continue to adjust to a normal life. He would thrive on a large rural property, especially with someone who has experience with Livestock Guardians and understands their usual behaviours such as barking and guarding. Herc needs a patient and understanding environment to help him fully come out of his shell and become the loyal companion he is meant to be.
