About Indie
Beautiful Indie was rescued earlier this last year from living in a dumpster on the street.
Only two and a half years old Indie has been thriving in foster care. She has slowly gained confidence and is happy and at ease living an indoor cosy lifestyle.
Her Abyssinian side definitely shows as her foster carer says Indie has worked out how to open the cupboards where her dry food is kept (an Abyssinian perky trait ! )
Indie is comfortable with other friendly cats and dogs as she is currently living with 2 resident cats and a dog.
Indie has come a long way and is ready for her forever home, she loves to play with her cat toys, watch cat TV on the iPad and relax on her hammock watching the birds outside.
Indie still needs time to trust new people, with patience she will be a loving companion.
If Indie is the girl for you please respond by outlining your experience with timid cats or similarly, your willingness to try. Let us know a little about your family and living arrangements. We suggest young children would not be suitable for Indie but older children or teens may well work out.
The foster carer has not yet been able to pat Indie. I should clarify that because Indie was loving being petted while crated but since emerging from the crate has declined contact and has bonded too with the foster carers cats. This is often an element in colony cats where they transfer their trust to other cats.
We can well imagine how working with an intelligent cat like this would become a reciprocative and fulfilling part of life for both parties.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Indie comes fully desexed with two vaccinations. She is negative to Feline Immune Disease Virus (FIV) and to Feline Leukaemia (FeLV).
Adoption details
Our normal procedure is to meet any prospective adopters and for them to meet our cats.
We also like to deliver our cats to their new home. This has multiple benefits, i.e. showing the cat that we trust the person we are leaving them with and for the prospective trial adopter to ask any questions they may have while we chat.
All adoptions have a trial base of up to four weeks. If things are still uncertain, that can be extended. Many shy cats can take three months to fully settle but during that time will make progressive steps that will be observed as progress.
