Merlin

Hi friends, my name is Merlin and I’m a 7-year-old border collie cross kelpie.

I’m sweet, gentle and friendly towards people. If you’ve got cuddles to give, I’ll happily take them!

I’ve spent my entire life on a farm with lots of other dogs and different animals. I’ve always been paired up with my brother, Willie, so I get along great with him….but I’ve never actually spent one-on-one time with any other dogs. I might be okay with other dogs, but they would need to be social and introductions would need to be slow. You should probably keep me away from birdlife and cats though – I have a strong prey drive (that’s the border collie in me!) and I will definitely chase them! I try to resist, but it’s just too much fun!

I walk well on the lead, I’m crate trained and food motivated. I’m very interested in learning and would have fun with anyone who wants to put the time and effort in to training me. I haven’t spent any time with children, but I have a beautiful temperament that would make me a great family pet (best with older kids though – they’re better at playing!). I need a home where the fence is secure, the vibes are chill and I won’t be disturbed by fireworks, gunshots or other loud noises.
