Introducing Beautiful Evie ❤️

HOUSEHOLD- If you are looking for a little ray of sunshine on a cloudy day, then Evie is the pup for you. She is energetic, interactive and has so far shown us that she is affectionate and playful too. She could suit a variety of different households from a single, couple or family setting but must meet all family members first as we have not yet seen her around younger children and she can get excited and jump up at times.

ON-GOING TRAINING- She will require ongoing basic obedience and lead training skills to help improve her overall manners. She already knows sit and is eager to engage and learn what is asked of her for treats and praise. Evie also shows the mental focus and drive/motivation needed for dog sports such as Agility, Flyball, and Rally Obedience.

ON LEAD- Evie can pull on leash, particularly in distracting environments, however, is an intelligent young dog who responds to rewards and training well. When not sniffing her environment, she checks in frequently with her handler and has started learning that engagement and a loose leash are rewarded with treats and praise.

PLAY/TOYS- Evie is a playful and handler engaged dog that has shown some interest in toys such as chasing balls, furry soft toys, and toys that squeak. In a home environment, it seems likely that she would warm up to toy-related play more.

OTHER DOGS- Evie can become quite excited with other dogs. She is keen to meet and interact with them but shows poor dog social cues. She will best suit a dog experienced owner if she is to live with another dog and may not be suitable for dog beaches or parks until she learns better social boundaries.

CATS/OTHER ANIMALS- At the shelter, Evie has shown timidness towards the cats in the facility. She has shown no aggressive traits but as some prey drive tendencies that could make chasing a cat fun. She may best suit a no cat household.

CARE/GROOMING- Evie has an easy coat to care for. Weekly brushing and monthly nail clipping should keep her in good condition.

EXERCISE- Evie is an intelligent and active dog that will require an energetic household with a family that has time for daily walks, plays, and mentally stimulating challenges.

NUTRITION- Evie is currently being fed twice a day on a dry feed diet. She has shown no signs of a sensitive stomach or being picky and will be best maintained on two feeds a day due to her high energy needs.

Evie is located at our Erina Shelter. Her $550 adoption fee covers microchipping, desexing, lifetime registration, current vaccination, flea and worming treatments.
