About Falkor
Hey how are you?
I'm good but a bit nervous making this post .. my foster mum said I had to tell you about me, but that's a lot of attention on me when I’m nervous around new people and meeting new people! I'm hoping that you will fall in love with me and want to give me a furever home.......
Okay here goes I'm going to do my best!
I have come into care from a private surrender, I was being picked on by my fur brother who was a lot older then me and didnt want a young brother.
I am a just one year old Dachshund x Bichon Frisé and weigh 10.7kgs
The rescue took one look at me and said that I reminded them off Falkor from the Never Ending Story so that's how I got my name!!
My foster mum says I'm a unique little guy, who once comfortable with his humans loves to cuddle with them (and my foster fur sister)
Whilst i have just turned 1 year old, I'm still a huge puppy on some things and as such can still be known to take socks, shoes etc and hoard them (sometimes they just jump into my mouth - I can't help it)
I am learning how to sit and started walking on a lead but will need a committed new mum or dad to continue this training with me.
I currently sleep in a crate at night which sometimes I'm good with other nights I would happily sleep on your bed with you.
I would love a home where there is someone home more often then not to keep me company , works from home, retired, shift workers etc etc - I'm not a huge fan of being home alone for long periods but learning.
I love being in a home with another dog who will want to play with me, hang out with me and let me snuggle with them.
I like to spend my day either outside doing dog things or on your lap snuggling you a baby
I wouldn’t enjoy being home alone for 8+ hours a day without humans. My foster mum says I am not a fan of spending time by myself unless I choose too. I am a typical lap dog so that means I’m looking for a lap that is home more often than not, someone who can take the time to sit down and let me have a snooze on them or near them and definitely a home with another dog to play with and socialize with.
I would also love a home with kids where Ican play and get cuddles from
I have been with a cat before and was interested in being their friend but they showed me their claws and told me no - so I respected her boundaries!
I am toilet trained
I have also been exposed to chooks and was really happy just laying out side the pen fencing with my nose up against it watching them for ages - they are funny little creatures but I think they thought the same about me!
Now I probably sound like a bit much but I promise I am a gorgeous boy who just wants a family of his own with some love, time and attention.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
