About Maggie
Meet the beautiful Maggie, a loving three-year-old black German Shepherd. She's an active, intelligent, and devoted companion who is seeking a new family that will provide her with the care, love, and attention she so eagerly seeks.
Maggie has had a lot of professional training in her younger years, and she showed herself to be a super learner. She can reliably obey basic commands and is crate trained.
Maggie is wonderful around children and has grown up peacefully with a pair of human siblings (6 yrs and 9 yrs). As she can occasionally be a little boisterous around the little ones, a family with older children could be the perfect fit.
An important thing to consider is Maggie's reaction towards other dogs. While she tends to bark loudly upon sighting one, it's not an indicator of aggression, rather a way for her to express keen interest. When she's face to face with other dogs, all she wants to do is play and explore. Families looking for a playmate for their extroverted pup, look no more, Maggie is your girl!
She is not a fence jumper, which contributes to a safer environment for her and reduces the risk of escaping, giving you peace of mind about her safety.
Maggie would best fit a family committed to investing the time to maintain her exercise regime and continuing her social learning to contain her zeal. The right adopter would likely have experience with larger, active breeds or a similar personality. Your commitment will be rewarded with a friendly and loving dog. You'll have not only an amazing companion but a loyal friend with whom you'll create unforgettable family memories.
If you live in Queensland or Victoria, you can be considered, however you will need to be able to drive with your family to meet Maggie. If for any reason she doesn't fit your family you will be responsible for bringing her back to Sydney or helping us to rehome from your home.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions. Maggie is microchipped, de-sexed, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
