Meet Sundae, a delightful boy who is as sweet as they come...
About: Sundae is a gentle & young boy who just wants to be your friend. He’s agreeable, but sometimes stubborn but we put that down to his young age. He’s a happy boy with a friendly nature. Outgoing & curious are trademarks of his as he loves to engage with his handers and explore the world around him. Sundae is affectionate & also quite playful, but he isn’t super high energy like most dogs his age. He is happy to chill out and play on his own terms and also happy to settle & curl up for nap during movie marathon.
Sundae is suitable for first time owners and is suitable for any household environment all thanks to his adaptable nature. Active & outdoorsy type people can be happy knowing that Sundae would be happy to accompany you on any outdoor adventure also.
Ideal Home: Sundae is fine to live in any home environment and yard size is of no concern either, just as long as the fencing is high & secure.
Having access to inside the home is also important for Sundae because he loves being around his human friends.
Family: Sundae is open to meet kids of any age & is also fine to live with people who work full-time hours just as long as they are committed to his ongoing training.
Furry Friends: Sundae is open to meet dogs, during his dog assessment Sundae was very playful with the other dog but his manners need to be a little tuned so that he is respectfully playing. Currently he is so excited to make friends that he forgets his manners.
As we cannot test, we are unsure how Sundae would go living with or meeting cats/pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of his new owners.
Training & Development: Sundae would also benefit from post-adoption training such as training to home to cover basic commands/obedience & group classes to keep his dog social skills sharp & to assist with his manners towards other dogs.
With a little extra training Sundae could be the type of dog that you could take to a dog friendly café or social event.
Sundae is still learning his name, but he knows ‘sit’ although his attention span isn’t the best… He is food motivated though and having treats on hand during training sessions would be a great idea as he does respond to them. Sundae may occasionally jump up to say hello when he meets you or when he wants a little extra attention from you.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Sundae has mid-range energy levels and h would benefit from exercise, play, or walks from 20-60mins a day to keep him happy & healthy.
Sundae walks well on a lead with minimal pulling and he is responsive to commands whilst walking. He is also best walked on a flat collar.
Staff Comments: Sundae is just such a sweet boy. He needs to focus a little more but he is responding well to training. Despite being young he is quite chill for a dog his age. He's not hard work and he would make a great dog for any person of any experience.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C3 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
