About Lincoln
Lincoln is a sweet, affectionate pup with bursts of energy followed by deep naps. As he grows in confidence, he loves going on walks, seeing the world, and meeting new people and dogs. While he can still get overwhelmed by noise and crowds, he quickly regains his excitement and happiness once reassured.
Lincoln's favorite thing is cuddling with his humans - he's a total teddy bear who loves to climb into laps for naps. Although he recently had some gut issues, a special diet has restored his good health. He's a fast learner, already mastering basic commands, though he tends to pull on the leash out of enthusiasm. With more practice, his leash manners will continue improving. Weighing in at only 14kgs this guy is really quite small and compact!
Overall, Lincoln is a wonderful little dog with so much potential.
MY IDEAL HOME: Lincoln thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where he can receive ample attention and affection throughout the day. While he can be left alone for 2-3 hours without issue, he would be more content with someone who can be present for the majority of the day. Though he would enjoy having a garden to run and play in, this is not an absolute requirement for the right owner. Lincoln would likely do better in a quieter household, such as with a couple, rather than a large, boisterous home, as he tends to need plenty of nap time (typical puppy behavior).
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Lincoln currently gets walked 3 times a day for about 30 minutes. If he had a big garden to run around in or when he learns better recall and has more off leash privileges he would be okay with one big walk a day. But generally, he'd be suited to an active household who wants to take him out and let him see the world. In the evenings he gets pretty sleepy and chilled and just wants to nap on the sofa with cuddles whilst we watch TV. He sleeps through the night, from about 9pm - 6am but it took him a few weeks to adjust to this.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Lincoln hasn't really met many children although we think if they were okay with them as he is generally a gentle guy. He does like the occasional staffy rough and tumble type play but provided kids were dog savvy we think he could live peacefully alongside them.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Lincoln is dog friendly and whilst he still gets rather excited to meet them and takes a little while to remember to play it cool, we believe he could happily live with another dog. He hasn't met any cats in care.
Medical notes
Lincoln came into care with cherry eyes (prolapsed third eyelid or nictitating membrane) however this has been repaired and no longer causing any issues. He does have a sensitive gut and requires a fairly plain diet and is currently on some additional probiotics this can improve over time with a healthy diet.
