About Charlie
Bio
Rehoming post.
Location: Brisbane, Australia
Male ocicat
5.5 years old
No health concerns
Desexed
Microchipped
Super skittish
Typical of ocicats, Charlie has a lovely personality and is very loveable. He is mostly quiet, and very skittish until he gets to know you. Charlie is an absolutely beautiful cat.
Charlie, originally from Adelaide, has been living in Brisbane for nearly 5 years. He is an indoor-only cat. Never been outside except when going to the vet. Currently we have a large screened outdoor area for the cats to play in.
Charlie lives indoors with a male cavoodle dog and a Cheetoh (bengal/ocicat).
Vaccine was given for first 3 years but stopped on advice from the vet, who said it is not necessary as the cats are strictly indoor cats and eating one type of kibble. Charlie can be vaccinated if required.
About Charlie
• No health issues
• Indoor-only cat
• Eats dry food mostly but loves all food except vegetables.
• Drinks a lot of water.
• Uses litter trays
• Loves to cuddle and be with human
• Loves cheese and chicken. Likes to partake of food with human but very obedient when told to leave
• Very quiet and very skittish/ shy. Very friendly when he knows you.
• Loves getting brushed.
• Understands a few words - his name, 'come', 'go', 'chicken', 'cheese'.
• Very friendly with other cats and dogs once he has gotten over his skittish shyness.
He forgets his skittishness when there’s chicken and cheese😺
Preference for rehomeing in Brisbane, but may consider other locations - please be of the understanding he is super skittish and shy and will take some time to adjust to the new situation so new family’s will need to be very understanding.
Reason for rehoming: female Cheetoh has been territory marking since she came 4 years ago. I only found out last month that her problem was Charlie (and not the outside world as I thought). She needs to be the only cat in the house.
Charlie is friendly towards children and other animals, however due to his skittishness I would say he’d be best suited to a quiet home where he doesn’t get frightened or surprised.
Please DM if you are interested in giving Charlie a home. I would like to ensure he goes to best home possible. I hope there’d be someone who knows and value this breed and who’d love Charlie’s company.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
