About Bernie Braveheart & Onyx
BERNIE BRAVEHEART (MALE)
Coat: Black with white streaks shorthair
Special Notes:
Bernie Braveheart was found by a member of the public with severe chemical burns over about 70% of his body. His burns were so severe in places that you could see his skin was melting away and you could see infection was taking hold.
Bernie was rushed off to our vet where his burns were cleaned and immediate treatment began. He has been in care for 11 months and as you can imagine, his ordeal has left him quote timid and shy. Bernie Braveheart has come such a long way in his short life, he truly has shown us what a little fighter he is. We all want Bernie to find a loving home with a family who has lots of love and patience for him.
Bernie has healed completely from his wounds but has some residual scarring and patches where his fur hasn't grown back. These scars are purely cosmetic and he is still able to clean and fully groom himself with no issues.
Likes: Scratches under his chin, gentle pats and feeling safe in his cat condo bed.
Dislikes: being chased or cornered, he cowers down, so he needs people who can go slow with him.
Personality: This little munchkin is quite shy due to his injuries as he had to be kept on his own for quite a while to allow his wounds to heal. He needs time to settle into his new environment. Bernie has such a sweet personality and given the chance, he would be a very cuddly little boy. He has a gorgeous spirit that wants to be let out and in time it will, he just needs someone with a lot of patience and acceptance for what he's been through. He loves his food and likes to dabble in different tastes. He likes to explore and find new places to adverture too, albeit very slowly and safely.
Kid Friendly: preferably gentle kids over 7 years but it will be case by case basis as we just want him to be loved and looked after.
Dog Friendly: Gentle dogs
Bonded Pair: We have paired Bernie with another friendly boy named Onyx. These two have been paired together so that they both have each other when they go to their new home. They are both gentle and sweet, one meet and greet with these boys and U will see that they are shy at first but ultra sweet and loving
ONYX (MALE)
Coat: solid black shorthair
Personality: This boy has surprised me so much since coming into foster care. He was initially very timid and would run away from me and over time and with lots of TLC, he is the most well rounded cat.
He loves all other animals and cats. I have never seen him hiss or get angry at any of the other cats and he tolerates our giant great Dane X wolfhound annoying him and chasing him around the house. He does run away from her if she gets too much for him, which is understandable. He is the chillest and most mellow boy. He comes up for cuddles of an evening and will sit right by us and watch tv. He just wants to be close to the people he loves.
Likes: Onnie loves food, pats and whether he likes it or not, big squishy cuddles, well...he tolerates my big squishy cuddles.
Dislikes: Not much to be honest, he will be timid in the beginning of new change but he is just such a great little man that you will see his sweet little soul on display in no time.
Kid Friendly: yes
Rabbit friendly: yes
Dog friendly: yes
