About Teddy - 3 Month Old Shih Tzu X (Trial)
Teddy is a 14-week-old, male, Shih Tzu cross puppy. He is thought to be a Shih Tzu, Pomeranian, Maltese cross and is black and tan in colour.
Teddy is a delightful and affectionate puppy with a gentle nature. He is very food-oriented, which makes training and bonding over treats quite effective. Despite his small size, Teddy sleeps soundly through the night in a large crate placed in the bedroom.
Teddy will be a small dog when fully grown. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. Positive reinforcement training methods, especially using food rewards, will likely be effective due to his food-oriented nature.
It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Teddy and where someone is home more often. He would be okay also as only dog if someone worked from home or was home majority of the time as he enjoys companionship and being around people. Teddy is currently living with two other female dogs but is untested with cats and other pocket pets.
Teddy needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep. He will be a wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 6 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Teddy's adoption fee is $1200 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.
Teddy is in foster care in Raymond Terrace, NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he's 5 to 6 months old.
