About Burt
Introducing Burt – Our Biggest Baby
Please note before reading on – Burt is a wolfhound and is approx. 18 months old.
He is a BIG Dog – probably 40 kg +
We will know for sure after his desex tomorrow, but he is not medium – he is BIG 😊
Having said that he is sweet, calm, gentle and affectionate – he is everything this wonderful breed is known for.
Burt does show some separation anxiety when left alone so will need a home where he isn’t left for very long periods, and he will need good fences.
He is dog friendly but due to his size we would expect careful introductions to others.
He is a bit of a worrier so would really need a home that has lots of patience and time to give him – to help him grow his brave to the correct size!
In the house he is as good as gold, he is great company – a real character.
He will need plus size sofas and beds as well as a nice sized yard to lounge around in.
You will not find a more attentive or loyal dog on the whole Internet – so if that’s what you are looking for – WINNER.
He is doing well on his walks, but he is a big boy so will need a strong, experienced handler.
Burt will be a wonderful addition to so many households – we just need to find the perfect one.
If you think that could be you, please send us a detailed message telling us all about yourself and the wonderful life he could share with you.
He is being desexed and heartworm cleared tomorrow (that’s a BIG Operation 😊 )- he is already vaccinated, microchipped, flea / tick / worm treated.
He is in care at Bahrs Scrub ( Logan) and his adoption fee is $625
He is not available for Interstate Adoption sorry
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.

Adoption details
At Village Tails, we strive to make the adoption process as seamless as possible. We understand that bringing a new pet into your home is a big decision that will enrich your life in countless ways. That’s why we’ve developed a clear, step-by-step guide to help you find your perfect match and provide a loving home for one of our precious animals. Our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way, from your initial interest to the joyful day you bring your new friend home.
How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
