Maeve

Maeve is a sweet and sensitive girl. Months ago she was roaming the streets alone, and now she is adjusting to living in a stable home environment. A girl of the streets turned domestic sweetheart; domesticity looks good on her!

Maeve's backstory is a bit of a mystery, and as such, so is her age. She is approximately somewhere between 2-3 years old. Maeve is not only dog social, but actually gains confidence from being around other social and playful dogs. She is a medium energy and medium drive dog, meaning she likes the best of both worlds - loves attention but also needs her own time. She has a gentle but cheeky play style. Loves short stints of play but also enjoys hanging out with both her two legged and four legged friends! When she gets those zoomies she takes being told to chill out by other dogs very well.

She takes a little bit of time to warm up to new people, but is not reactive or scared. She just likes to sit back and observe a bit before engaging. She likes food, playing with toys, and enjoys affection once you've gained some trust with her. She can be coy and playful once there's some trust between her and her human relatives.

She is still a little bit nervous around loud or heavy-sounding noises, but is going very well on her counter conditioning journey. Her willingness to explore and innate sense of curiosity overcomes her nervousness around cars, but high density areas like the city or main roads may not be ideal for the time being. With time, patience and work, we are sure she will get there but a quieter residential area may be best for a quicker transition.
