About Tommy
Introducing the handsome Tommy!
Tommy is a Jack Russell x born 31st October 2021.
Tommy was surrendered to the facility for rehoming as he and his biological brother started showing signs of litter mate syndrome. Although their owner had worked with them for months trying to rectify their behaviour, unfortunately they made no progress and felt that for his safety it would be best to rehome Tommy. Although he seems a bit scared of his new surroundings, Tommy has shown himself to be a very sweet boy who loves human attention.
His surrender profile states he is predominantly an outside dog, he's not house trained, he travels well in the car, he has no separation anxiety at home, he's friendly with children & adult strangers. He has lived with a cat but he hasn't been tested with others outside of the home and he hasn't been tested with dogs other than his brother. When going out for walks he does pull with excitement.
Tommy was quite scared of both large & small dogs. He would try to run away or hide when either approached him. We believe he would be more comfortable being the only spoilt "child" at home.
Tommy seemed unfazed by cats at the facility. We believe that with a slow & controlled introduction he could be suitable to live with cats. *Please note: our cat testing is done through an enclosure, we cannot guarantee how he will react if they were free roaming in front of him.
He is currently untested with pocket pets.
Tommy has shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety while at the facility.
Tommy's adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing and lifetime registration.
Tommy is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
