About Ted
Introducing the handsome Ted!
Ted is a Staffy x Wolfhound (the size of a Kelpie) born 17th June 2010.
Ted was brought into the facility as a very scared, unmicrochipped stray. After a day or two Ted began to settle with staff and we've been slowly gaining his trust every day. Although he wasn't microchipped, it didn't take us long to find his owner. Unfortunately he has now become homeless and is no longer able to care for him. We know that Ted is house trained and he has lived with children. Although Ted has come a long way with staff, he will need a patient owner who will continue to guide him with love & patience.
Even though Ted has previously lived with another dog, he tested quite poorly with them at the facility. We believe that he will need to be the only, spoilt "child" at home.
Ted seemed unfazed by cats. Even when our resident cat Grumbles walked straight up to his face, he showed no interest in him. We believe that with a slow & controlled introduction he could be suitable to live with cats. *Please note: our cat testing is done through an enclosure, we cannot guarantee how he will react if they were free roaming in front of him.
Ted has seen a rabbit through a glass door and seemed unfazed.
Ted has shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety while at the facility. While he does bark on occasion, he is generally a very quiet boy.
Even though Ted is an older gentleman, he is still quite an active & healthy boy. He still loves his walks, treats & cuddles.
We haven't seen any stiffness when he gets up, however this may change as temperatures continue to drop.
As he is an older boy, we would love for him to spend his retirement years as an indoor/outdoor dog, so he can know love & comfort for the rest of his days.
Ted's adoption fee is $300 and includes his desexing and lifetime registration.
Ted is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
