About Cookie
Introducing this handsome young boy named Cookie who is believed to be around 10 months old, a stunning koolie x mix and was rescued from a rural NSW pound.
A very scared boy who came into care so timid and shut down that it took days before he would let his foster carers even pet him.
He has come a long way since then though, and while some situations still frighten him and he retreats into his shell a little, he generally loves affection and will usually accept pats even from total strangers within a few minutes of meeting them.
Cookie loves other dogs, and uses the host dog to help build his confidence in new situations, sticking right by her side whenever he's not sure about something or someone. For this reason we believe he is bested to be rehomed with a least one other dog. Preferably one that likes to play, as he'll do anything for a good game of rumble and tumble.
We think Cookie will make a great addition to a family, couple or single person who is willing to put the time and effort into training him and continuing to build his confidence. He shows great potential and has good recall already, never showing any desire to run away, (even when terrified, he'll keep his distance but not disappear) so would suit someone that can be trusted at the beach or on a property, especially after he's had time to bond with his handler.
He's going to want to be an active dog, so having another dog that can drain some if is energy and regular walks will be a must. Other than that, some time and patience, good food and shelter is all he asks for, and in turn he will reward you with limitless love and affection.
He is ready to start the search for his new home, located in the Lake Macquarie NSW area he is hoping his good looks mean he doesn't need to wait too long. His adoption fee is $600.
Cookie is only available for NSW AND ACT adoption
