Rick

Maverick (Rick) is a 5yo Jack Russell Terrier with a wire coat, he’s a cute little guy and true to his breed. He has a zest for life and doesn’t bark much, loves people and has been great with our much larger dogs.

He is good on lead and his recall is coming along well, he does get a little distracted when he picks up a scent so will need perseverance to master this skill.

Rick was raised on a farm so is happy to be outside, in fact he was quite unsure about the whole “come on in, here’s a soft bed” initially but is now enjoying his spot inside.

He has a very healthy appetite and doesn’t appear to be fussy. Rick is also very gentle taking food rewards and tidbits and will sit before meals and on command.

Rick chases off the wild ducks so probably not suitable for a home with free range chooks/ducks and being a JRT pocket pets wouldn’t be a good match either. Untested with cats, but he has seen one when on lead and wasn’t interested.

He will become someone’s very best friend in no time at all and is a lovely dog.
