About Coco
COCO Is Seeking A Forever FAMILY
Im Coco - a sweet cheeky quirky girl .
3 years old 25kg female Great Dane Cross American Bulldog cross Staffy mixed breed *🧬 DNA Tested*
Who knows what I am crossed with ...but I am 100% a good girl and if you give me a chance and help me become the best version of myself , I'll give you my unconditional love .
6 mths ago, I met Tails of The Forgotten Paws AU on a purely coincidence event. I didn't came from a pound. Wasn't on euthanasia list.
I was advertised for free on an online trading platform because my family decided to have another dog .
Then l got taken by someone that unfortunately can't provide me with what I need, mentally & physically .
Then this person met Raph, she helped me with my vet care through Progressive Vet Care , then the rest is history 🙏 that's how I ended up in care with this charity since.
The family that got me from puppy, left me in the backyard, never walked me and never given me a chance to see the outside world. At the time they were planning to breed me for puppies, they didn't because they decided to get another dog, a pug. And gave me away for free instead.
I am now desexed and vaccinated and 100% healthy thanks to Tailsoftheforgottenpawsau.org.au.
I was left in the backyard everyday 24/7 .
Despite all this, I am friendly, I love people and I'm actually a playful girl who has the drive to learn and so excited to explore the world.
Till this day I still don't know what I did wrong to be given away, they told me they love me when I was a pup. But now, my life since joining Tailsoftheforgottenpawsau.org.au is so much better and I'm not looking back!😀😃
What Tails of The Forgotten Paws AU Crew say about me 👇
House Manner⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
⭐️Within a very short time since meeting her - Coco has learned to be the best indoor dog 🙂 she is calm and well mannered inside the house. Once she learned the house rules, She doesn't run around inside and never destructive.
Fav Playtime
Coco has discovered the joy of playing tug-o-war aaand THE FLIRT POLE is her all time favorite ! Woo-hoo😄😄😁
Personality⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This girl has the funniest running style 🤣 😂 like a kangaroo/rabbit. SUPER CUTE.
Eventhough she is 3yrs old, she is still a baby at heart.🥲 sweet & gentle. And CHEEKY. She also loves cuddles and giving kisses. The sweetest heart
*Just don't disturb her when she is sleeping , 😴 😌 😏 🤪, she loves her beauty sleep/naps in peace*
Able to make friends ✅️✅️✅️
She currently being fostered with a male Rottie, a male Mastiff and a female Poodle cross. Psssst: Duke the Rottie is Coco's Favorite 🫶🫶.
Coco response well with other mature well balanced friendly dogs *big or small*, just need SLOW intro in the beginning, in an environment where she is comfortable.
Independence✅️✅️✅️
She Sleeps well throughout the night 🌙 and she is crate trained but happy to also Sleeps on her bed next to you
She isn't bothered with loud noises and not bothered being left alone every now and then. No separation anxiety etc.
She had general health check and vet gave her the ✅️✅️✅️
Healthy girl they said 😁
Foundation Skills /Daily Activities ✅️✅️✅️
Currently getting 2X40mins Per Day Training Walk with desensitisation on various environments busy with in home foundation training. 👉Just like with any dogs, training is lifetime journey, Structure and boundaries are daily requirements.
🏆Coco is clicker trained ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ her fav highest value training treats are ham or cheese or hotdogs sausages
She has been doing very well and progressing nicely thanks to her foster family. She learned to shake 🤝 hand , spin 💫 , Sit and Stay especially while waiting for her meal. She also knows heel command too!
Travel well in a the car inside her soft crate and able to walk around shops , getting coffee et with my foster Mum, as long as it isn't too busy .
⚠️As any dog lovers can understand, being deprived of the outside world for the 1st 2.5years of her life, means she can get overwhelmed when in busy environments.
The right forever family must understand this and avoid flooding her with too many things too quick .
ℹ️Coco has done well with her leash walking considering her background but learning is a journey and so she can def still improve from here . She is trained to walk with a head harness/halti and currently transitioning slowly to just using a collar.
📋We are Seeking a family that will have the time for Coco . A family that will incld her as a part of the team. A family that will be willing to continue teaching Coco lifestyle skills, everything about living in our world, to keep her safe. A family with patience and commitment to Coco.
Coco loves exploring trails and being in nature- so we are looking for a family with this lifestyle. A family that loves to explore the outdoor every now then
Her most recent visit to the Melbourne Botanic Gardens was super memorable she had a blast.
Coco isn't a dog that you take to dog parks , dog parks is very overwhelming for her.
She is best to interact with calm mature well balanced dogs in a quiet environment where she is comfortable
One day she'll be able to feel more comfortable around dog parks , under the right family but certainly not NOW.
❤️Coco is friendly with other dogs and playful. she just can be a bit unsure in the beginning so a slow proper intro is a must to allow Coco some time to get comfortable- something that she is learning to be better at very quickly.
she is best making friends with more mature calm well balanced dogs. It will be even better if she gets to be adopted into a family with existing similar size dog that is more mature and well balanced , a dog that will take Coco under his/her wing.
Coco still likes to be playful , playing chase etc .
She is most comfortable within the space of her home.
When Coco is overwhelmed she'll start singing/whistling. Common in dogs as a way to release their stress but given enough desensitisation she will learn to process all these new found freedom 😊🙂 calmly.
We need you to be patient and use positive reinforcement and not set unrealistic expectations on Coco , instead set her up for success because this girl has endured a lot in her past life and now since in our care she has shown us her true potential ❤️ 💙 and her ability to love life, to love people and other fur friends
