Mavis became a mum too young and missed out on having a secure kittenhood with a loving family. She has been in foster care while she raised her babies, and now shes ready to get her life back and find a family of her own.
She is a very sweet girl, but she takes a little while to warm up. She is likely to spend a week under your couch before she starts to socialise. Hot tip from her foster carer: you can fast track that process with roast chicken, her favourite treat!!!
When shes in your arms she will lean into her cuddles and just flop like a jaguar on a branch and let you carry her around all day while she purrs loudly.
She is accepting of cat friendly dogs and other cats after a few weeks, but would prefer a home with no children under five, so that she can be given the space and consistency she needs while she learns to trust her new family. Additionally, she has proven very mistrustful of men. While she will be fine in a household with male residents, she is not recommended to a home where her primary carer is a man.
She isn’t too fazed by companionship, but if you were looking for two, she has a very lovely bond with her little daughter Chips, and they snuggle together a lot while the boy kittens rough and tumble.
Mavis is a particularly special little cat, she has so much love to give to a patient home, and she will be dearly missed by her foster carer.
