About Louie
Please meet Louie, the sweet natured but oh so cheeky little 15 week old Mini Dachshund
This sweet natured young boy deserves everything that life can offer – Louie does everything with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye.
Louie came into care thru no fault of his own from a private surrender.
Louie aka cheeky boy as his foster mum will often call him, is just a fun young boy – always up for play time and fun.
Louie is a little of ball of muscle and his favorite things to do in the world is play with other furkids, balls, chew toys / play with them and socialize and explore the garden.
Louie loves being a part of the family – up in your grill, on your lap and just basically anywhere the family is, as fun is to be had!
Louie is still learning that jumping off couches etc are a huge no for his breed but with a twinkle is his eye he will still do it – he does need a family that will continue to teach him that he is not superman and cannot fly.
Louie is currently with other dogs in care and will need to go to a home with another playful small breed dog (he is currently used to Frenchies, Staffy's, Pugs and Dashies)
Louie fursiblings will either need to be very calm or who can match his energy levels and wants to play (now how fun would that be watching two small breeds play and enjoy life?)
Louie loves kids
Louie would love to sleep with his humans on their bed at night or with another fur sibling to snuggle with.
Louie is not tested on cats however young and can be easily trained to live with.
Louie is 95% toilet trained but as still a pup will need guidance at his new home.
If you are looking for a dog that is going to be fun and energy filled then Louie is your guy

Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed

Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
