About Pepper
Hello, my name is Pepper and I'm looking for my forever humans.
I am a 3 year and 2 month old Miniature Dapple Dachshund who while shy when first meeting you, I'm such a beautiful girl (my foster mumma says so!) that when I give you a cuddle and look at you with love in my eyes - its worth it!!
I have come into care from a backyard breeder and can be timid with some new people and situations but give me a moment to get comfortable and I blossoms.
I am a little shy with new humans, however, once I get to know you I am quite a lap dog and love scratches and cuddles
My foster mum says that I am very loving and I absolutely love my tummy being tickled - sometimes I can not even wait for you to sit down on the couch and cuddle with me!
I have been know as a bit of shadow to my foster family and will happily follow you from room to room so while I have little legs and can keep up you may find from time to time I'm so close that I will give you a little bop on your leg with my nose (oops sorry about that!)
I currently live in a home where my humans work but I would very much love a home where someone is home more often then not, or works from home, shift work, retired etc etc.
I would happily lie under your desk, or couch or even in bed and wouldn't be annoying - just happy to be in your company.
I currently weigh 6.7kgs
I am currently living with and other small breed dog who I like to play with, snuggle with and generally just have with me for company.
I do like to wake my mum of a morning with kisses and a good morning rise and shine smile :-)
I then like to go outside and lie out in the sun after breakfast and happily will be in and out thru the day playing with my foster sibling, snoozing, sunbaking, checking out the world.
I love my food and like the odd treat.
I am comfortable with kids and have lived with them previously with my breeder.
I am also cat friendly
I enjoy going on walks and outings but have been known to give my opinion on another dog or a human walking past - I keep telling my mum it's just me telling them I'm out and about and loooooook at me!
I do also enjoy a good snooze preferably on my humans bed. I sleep with my humans on their bed as I am the apple of their eye. I love to be touching you while we sleep.
I am toilet trained.
My ideal home would be where I can be inside as much as I want and outside as much as i want for play, lady business and some play and sunbaking. I would not enjoy being a dog that would be expected to spend hours outside by myself.
I am looking for that forever home that will love me and I can love you – are you that home?

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
