Alfie and Fonzie

Meet Alfie and Fonzie

Alfie came into our rescue straight from the pound with his friend Fonzie as they were not coping in the shelter and needed some much needed TLC! They have both had a very sheltered life thus far and have not unfortunately been given the love the deserve.

They are both settling into there foster homes but Alfie being younger than Fonzie is making much quicker progress at this stage.

Both are very timid dogs and will require an experienced quieter home with a patient family who can take their time to let them adjust to a new environment.

These guys are quite happy together so ideally we would like them to find a home together but for the perfect homes they may be able to go to separate home but they would love to have at least one other social doggie friend to keep them company when there humans are out.

So far Alfie is seeming to be a very smart loyal little dog who really loves his person once he trusts, he seems fine with dogs, cats and even chickens, he’s very effectionate and loves to follow you everywhere in lncluding travelling in the car! So he would love a home where he can go most places with his humans but when he can’t he would love a little friend at home to keep him company! Alfie is very intune with his human and very much a one on one dog who would also be Great at tricks and agility he’s very food oriented and has a very switched on mind! He simply just needs to learn to trust more people but once you have gained his trust he’s a great little dog!

Fonzie on the other hand is a bit mystery still as he’s still learning to trust that people are not going to hurt him. He seems unfazed by other dogs but is not ready to come out and see the world as yet, he looks forward to alfie returning and keeping him company! He does enjoy pats but otherwise likes to stay in his own comfort zone for now.

Both dogs will require toilet management until they get into the swing of things and ideally access inside/out at all times. They also will need a crate set up in the home initially while they are adapting and may possibly always like to have that safety place to go when everything gets all a bit too much!

Alfie has just been groomed by our rescue groomer but the foster carer had to hold him as it was the first time he’s ever been washed/ groomed in his life, his coat is fairly easy to maintain but he will require regular brushing and grooms from time to time to keep him feeling Great!

Fonzie on the other hand a simple brush and wash as he’s very short coated. This is will take a while before we can even attempt to wash him though as he’s simply not up to that stage as yet! But we will get there.
