About Duke
Duke is a 1-year and 10-month-old male German Shepherd mix with a striking creamy tan coat. This young, slender, and fit dog is not just a pretty face; he's a true companion dog who absolutely adores people and bonds quickly with them. Duke is good with other dogs, though he can get a bit overexcited at times, but that's something that can be managed with training.
He is kid-friendly but might be a bit too enthusiastic for very small children, so a home with bigger kids who are less at risk of being knocked over would be ideal. Duke requires secure fencing as he has a history of escaping due to separation anxiety. He would thrive in a home where someone is around often and willing to work on his separation anxiety. Crate training is highly recommended to help him adjust.
Duke is a reasonably high-energy dog, which means he needs plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. His intelligence and eagerness to please make him a fantastic candidate for training. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and smart dog to share your life with, Duke is the perfect choice.
