About China
China is a senior love bug with a signature smile. She loves blankets, pillows and all levels of snuggly comfiness with her people. She has quickly become a star at her local dog park and at the vets for being such a calm, cheerful girl.
Why China ended up in a pound, we don't know... she is the sweetest, kindest, most delightful girl in all the land. She required 'entropian' surgery when she arrived as her eye lashes rolled in and were scratching her cornea's, this is now all resolved and she is a healthy girl. Being a senior, a good diet and some joint supplements are ideal to keep her in tip top shape.
It is hard to fault China, she is truly a delight! Most at home on the couch, getting pats and smooches. She will stop anyone in the street for a hello and has been nothing but friendly to dogs and kids out and about. She deserves a retirement home where she is loved and adored for the rest of her days!
MY IDEAL HOME: China loves being around people and would be best suited to a home where her people are there more often than not. She can be left alone for the day if her carers need to go into the office but she gets a bit anxious and would prefer some work from home companionship if possible. Her current carer works from home for half the week and half away from home.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Mostly couch potato (wrapped in blankets like a burrito!). China does enjoy her walks but as she is a senior dog she requires less exercise than a younger pup. She is currently walked twice a day (morning and night) - about 4 blocks and back each time.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: China loves children and is very patient with them. She usually sits and waits for kids to pat her while she wags her tail. Because she is so calm and easy to walk she could be rehomed with a family that have young kids.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: China gets on well with almost every dog she meets. The odd dogs that don't take a liking to her are cheerfully ignored by her. She is a star at the local dog park for her calm nature.
China has not been tested around cats.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
