About Gizmo
Introducing the handsome Gizmo!
Gizmo is a long haired Chihuahua born 26th November 2022.
Gizmo was brought in to the facility as a stray whose microchip details were out of date. When we finally got in contact with the owner, they ended up being the ones who brought him into the facility. He was surrendered for rehoming. His surrender profile states he is not house trained, he travels well in the car, he is friendly with children & adult strangers, however he does prefer to be the only animal at home.
Since being at the facility he has been quite shy with new people, but you can see he desperately wants love. When he warms up to you he's quite happy to have a gentle cuddle.
Gizmo was quite scared when meeting other dogs. He showed no signs of aggression but also didn't interact with them. We believe that as he is so shy around other dogs that it would be best for him to be the only spoilt "child" at home, at least until he's settled into his new environment.
Gizmo seemed unfazed by cats & pocket pets. We believe that with a slow & controlled introduction he could be suitable to live with small animals. *Please note: our cat & pocket pet testing is done through an enclosure, we cannot guarantee how he will react if cats & pocket pets were free roaming in front of him.
Gizmo has shown no signs of food aggression at the facility, however he has shown some signs of separation anxiety.
Gizmo's adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing and lifetime registration.
Gizmo is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
