About Boona
Introducing the handsome Boona!
Boona is a chunky Jack Russell born 3rd April 2018.
This behemoth of a boy weighs in at a hefty 12.6kgs. We have already started him on his weight loss journey, but he will need a dedicated owner to continue this when he goes home. Boona is an incredibly happy & sweet boy. He loves his people, he loves a scratch & he matches your enthusiasm even if he has no idea what's going on! We have noticed that he is struggling with the excess weight and can't walk very far before he's panting & coughing. Although we make light of his weight, he will need an owner willing to help him through this long journey he has ahead of him.
Boona tested very well with other dogs but wasn't overly playful. He was happy to introduce himself, sniff & move on. We believe that he could be suitable to live with other dogs, or be the only spoilt "child" at home. If you have a friendly dog at home, we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Boone seemed unfazed by cats & pocket pets. We believe that with a slow & controlled introduction he could be suitable to live with small animals. *Please note: our cat & pocket pet testing is done through an enclosure, we cannot guarantee how he will react if cats & pocket pets were free roaming in front of him.
Boona has shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety while at the facility.
Boona's adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing and lifetime registration.
Boona is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
