About Josie
Introducing the tiny, oh sweet and loving Josie
Josie is a 2 year and 10 month old gorgeous Bichon Frise x
Josie weighs a tiny 3.2kgs
Josie is an ex-breeding girl who came into care with a few others and is now retired. The rescue has ensured that Josie's breeding days are over and her vet work is now up to date.
Since coming in to care Josie has experienced lots of firsts and it's truly heartwarming to see her blossom.
As Josie didn’t have a lot of human socialisation until she came in to care, she is wary of meeting new people - so anyone who meets her must give her time to adjust and come up to them in her own time.
Josie is looking for a quiet home with either kids over the age of 10 or she would happily live in a home with no kids - Josie can get anxious around small kids and struggles to settle, so the rescue is defintely asking for a quiet home she can relax and settle in.
Josie is currently living with other small breeds and loves snuggling with them.
Whilst Josie would love a home with a human at her she also loves to hang out with other dogs and wait for her humans to get home from work.
Josie is now looking for her forever home - she would love a home where there is another small breed gentle dog who is happy to continue to show her the ropes and give her the confidence she needs to settle and continue to come out of her shell.
Her ideal home would be where she can be inside as much as she likes but still have access to outside for her lady business and sun baking. Josie would not cope as a dog expected to spend long periods outside.
Josie now knows how to use the dog door with ease and is doing brilliantly with toilet training.
Josie does like to sleep in her round comfy bed alone or with a friend or on the bed with her humans (and she will bond tightly with one more than another).
Once Josie is more comfortable she will love a cuddle on the couch while you are watching TV or will help you out in the kitchen or laundry, basically she will be your tiny shadow! Her foster mum has actually put a bell on her collar as she is so quiet when following you.
Josie is house trained but may have an accident or two when moving to the new house, she will need some time to settle. She does like to be taken outside regularly to toilet and have your human company while she does her business but will go alone too!
Josie LOVES a walk. She is first in line to get her harness on and then try’s to get everyone else’s harness on too! She loose lead walks beautifully but is nervous when other humans pass. She is happy to chat to other dogs though!
Josie has a coat that requires regular grooming so please make sure you remember that is a lifetime of grooming. She has very tight curls and requires regular brushing and will need regular clipping. She is a good girl during her grooms or washes and quite enjoys a blow dry on your lap when you are done!
Josie is looking for a calm house where she will be allowed the time to settle and her humans will continue to let her confidence grow - are you that home?

Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed

Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
