About Evan
Handsome Evan is on the search for his forever family. With his long legs and gentle face he is bound to be popular.
Evan is the complete package. He is affectionate, smart and fun-loving.
He can take a little while to warm up to new people and strange dogs, but after his initial shyness, he is everybody's friend.
Evan's favourite things are playing fetch and his daily walks.
He walks well on the lead and is equally happy investigating parks as he is visiting dog friendly cafes.
At home, he is happy to lie on the deck during the day and watch the world pass by. In the evening, he loves to curl up on the couch with his humans.
Although Evan has been living happily with his three older foster sisters, he would love a friend of similar size, age and energy levels to play with.
Evan is house-trained and sleeps inside in his dog bed.
During his time in foster, Evan has not interacted with young children but was well-behaved with gentle children over 10.
Medical notes
3.5 year old Evan is desexed and microchipped. He is up to date with C5 vaccinations and flea, tick, intestinal worm and heart worm prevention.
Evan has had a dental since being in care.
Evan had some mild to moderate increases in his liver levels when he first arrived at CRQ and we’ve kept him in care for a long time to monitor and run tests, even a specialist ultrasound has been performed and liver support medication (HepatoAdvanced) has been trialled. Our vets have been unable to find a definite answer, and the levels continue to rise and fall. He is well, and shows no signs of being ill or uncomfortable, so the latest vet recommendation is to just continue to monitor him with at least annual blood tests and regular vet checks.
His patella’s are stable.
This doesn’t seem to have caused any ongoing issues with Evan, however before coming to CRQ, Evan was involved in a serious car accident where the car rolled and Evan ran off. He was captured by a paramedic and kept safe and wasn’t physically hurt in the accident, but we feel it’s important that new owners are aware that he had been through a highly traumatic experience as a young boy. Surprisingly, he still enjoys car rides!
